Speak up & Talk to your Partners. Voluntary & Community Sector and Local Strategic Partnerships Event. 15 June 2009

This event was planned to enable VCSVoluntary and Community Sector. groups and public sector partners to get to know more about their Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) and the voluntary and community sector in East Sussex. The event was very well attended by 75 participants from across all districts in East Sussex from different size, local and countywide organisations and public sector bodies.

Who I work with

East Sussex Council for Voluntary Youth Service - ESCVYS (www.escvys.org.uk ) who is an independent organisation providing a specialist voice for the voluntary and community sector working with children and young people in East Sussex. ESCVYS is a network of over 115 voluntary youth organisations and projects working with over 12,000 young people in East Sussex.

ESCVYS provides:

- representation mechanisms for the Children's Trust
- regular email updates around policy, training, funding and sector news
- a support service around developing the appropriate policies and procedures
- networking opportunities for members
- forum events on relevant topics i.e. extended schools and Every Child Matters
- a point of referral between colleagues working with children and young people in East Sussex
- consultation on relevant voluntary and community sector issues

East Sussex Voluntary and Community Sector IMPACT Group
IMPACT Grpup is a forum, which provides a central point of contact for voluntary and community groups to participate in, influence developments of and impact on the strategic planning, design, delivery and commissioningThe process by which the needs of the local population are identified, priorities set, and then appropriate services are purchase and evaluated. of services for children and young people and their families in East Sussex. Using existing and new networks to ensure that all organisations both large and small are able to receive up to date information about key developments affecting those working with children and young people.
