Capacitybuilders Programmes update

Social Enterprise: Our Funding Committee is considering a range of projects submitted by each regional social enterprise network with announcements on the funding decisions due to be made later this month.

Modernisation Programme: This week we have announced a range of grants awarded across England for projects aiming to deliver improvements in the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of support services for the long term.

Capital Programme: Next week we will formally launch our last main funding programme for 2008-11. The Capital Programme aims to support the “refurbishment and development of local third sector resource centres, which provide shared services and facilities for local organisations”.   There will be two phases to the programme with applications invited immediately for grants of up to £30k to support smaller refurbishment and development projects that are ‘ready to go’.  For the second phase of the programme we will be inviting expressions of interest for larger grants to be delivered during 2009-11.  Full details on the Capital Programme will be available on our website: www.capacitybuilders.org.uk/capital

Developments to Improving SupportOver the next few months you will be hearing more about developments to www.improvingsupport.org.uk.  The website was launched back in April and currently provides a single entry point to the work of the nine workstreams funded through Capacitybuilders’ national support services programme. In addition, there is a useful training and events calendar that holds information on all activities being delivered by the workstreams across the country.

In the New Year, the site will be developed to hold information on all work funded through Capacitybuilders – including that of Consortia, Improving Reach and Social Enterprise. Features of the new site include a resources library which will contain useful tools and assets developed though Capacitybuilders’ funding – including those developed by the National Hubs.  An area of the site will also be dedicated to facilitating the sharing of learning with the ability to make links with similar organisations working across the country.  Sign up at www.improvingsupport.org.uk to receive information when these developments come on line.
