Proposed Action Plan to Support Third Sector

Over the last few weeks, the Office of the Third Sector has been assessing the impact of the current economic situation on the third sector and the Minister for the Third Sector, Kevin Brennan, co-chaired a 'recession summit' yesterday, Monday 24th November, to discuss this with representatives of the main third sector representative bodies.

Earlier diiscussions with the sector have established that there is a need for a coordinated response to both the challenges and opportunities that the current climate presents to the sector. Yesterday the Minister announced plans to produce a 'recession action plan' for the third sector, which will be published early in the New Year.

More detailed plans are expected to be circulatedby the end of this week about the key themes that the action plan will cover and how the third sector can be involved in the process. See attached today's announcement from OTS.
