Organisations representing Black Minority Ethnic(BME) and diverse communites in East Sussex
Thanks to additional funding from the Regional Empowerment Partnership SpeakUp Forum was able to support organisations working with Black Minority Ethnic and diverse communites in East Sussex. This project was funded till October 2010. As a result we have put together a list of BME and Faith groups across East Sussex.

This is a list of BME and faith organisations in East Sussex that SpeakUp Forum knows about and has been in touch with. We know there are some more BME and faith groups in the county but we have not had a chance to get in touch with them through our work therefore do not have an up-to-date details about them. But we will aim to update and extend this list as we gain more information.
Events
Together with partners we have organised one focus session, two large workshops and one conference. In total over 200 people attended all the events and they represented:
- Voluntary and community groups
- Community leaders
- People and organisations working with or supporting diverse communities
- Key public sector partners

18th October 2010, 9.30am to 3.30pm, Eastbourne Town Hall.
The conference aimed to explore local service provision for BME and migrant communities within the broader context of current changes and challenges in government public funding, for local authorities and service providers. The day has been attended by over 120 people representing a diverse voluntary and community sector as well as key public sector agencies.
