What is SpeakUp Forum?
Countywide Forum which brings together representatives (currently 20) each representing a significant section of the Voluntary and Community Sector in East Sussex:
- Communities of Place, e.g. Lewes District
- Communities of Interest, e.g. older people
- Communities of Identity, e.g. disability
SpeakUp Forum aims to:
- Support groups to have a voice in the County and be a strong partner for statutory agencies
- Provide representation and influence partnerships, planning and decision-making across East Sussex
- Strenghten networking between groups
- Develop good practice and training in the field of community representation
- Improve information for groups via Ask CaSPer website (www.askcasper.org.uk)
- Organise bi-monthly meetings for the SpeakUp representatives
- Organise Countywide networking events for groups
- Improve feeding information from and back to the networks using newsletters and e-bulletins

SpeakUp Representatives
SpeakUp representatives are members or employees of Voluntary and Community Sector organisation that work in East Sussex. The representatives do not represent their own organisation but derive a mandate from a wider constituency.
Representative meet bi-monthly to discuss, exchange information and prepare for the key partnerships.

A Voice for the Sector!
The Forum liaise with statutory agencies, e.g. East Sussex County Council and other partners and will help find a suitable representative or signpost to other relevant organisation or network. View the list of partnerships with the SpeakUp representative. More details about those partnerships will be availeble shortly.
If your group has issues you would like to discuss or to be taken forward to Countywide planning and decision making meetings, you can contact your SpeakUp representatives directly or contact SpeakUp Forum Development Officer, Miriam Miklaszewska by e-mailing speakup@southdownscvs.org.uk or by calling 01273 483 382.
The Forum is also working towards developing further and stronger Countywide structures for voluntary and community groups working with hard to reach and underrepresented communities, if you would like to be involve in this work please contact us.

- SpeakUp Representative Feedback Form - this form will be used by SpeakUp Representatives to feed back to the voluntary and community sector if any aditional (to summary minutes)information is needed
