Who I work with

The East Sussex Advice Partnership (ESAP) is made up of, Citizens Advice East Sussex, Brighton Housing Trust, Hastings Advice and Representation Centre and Shelter  (Hastings)

The advantage of working together is that no one single agency can achieve the delivery of an East Sussex wide legal advice service.  This can only be achieved by pooling together the strengths of the respective partners in terms of geographical spread and range/capacity of advice. The partnership aims are:

  • Improving quantity and quality of legal advice throughout East Sussex
  • Creating a partnership for a CLAN tender
  • Building on synergies between partners, increasing knowledge, maximising use of partners and learning from advice services across East
  • Sussex, for example:
    - CAB’s wide geographical spread of offices through out the county and specialism in Debt Advice and access to Employment Specialist Advice in West Sussex/ Kent
    - BHT, Shelter, and HARC’s specialism in legal advice especially in housing and welfare benefits
    - Good practice in quality  (such as sharing legal supervision across partners)
