Supporting BME (Black Minority Ethnic) organisations in East Sussex
Thanks to additional funding from the Regional Empowerment Partnership SpeakUp Forum can support Black Minority Ethnic organisations in East Sussex. This is a short project till March 2010. The project will continue work started by TAO (Together As One) Network and issues highlighted at the BMEBlack and Minority Ethnic Conference on 31st March 2009 in Bexhill. All the activities are for the old members of TAO and all other organisations in East Sussex. Planned activities are free and we warmly invite:
- BME voluntary and community groups
- Community leaders
- People and organisations working with or supporting diverse communities
Activities during the project include:
- "Community Safety in East Sussex Workshop", 24th February 2010, 11.45 am to 3pm at Magnet Centre, St.Leonards
- "Adults and Older People in East Sussex Workshop", NEW DATE 24th March, 3pm to 6.30pm, Eastbourne. Due to the weather conditions workshop has been rescheduled to March.
- "Celebrating our voice!" Conference/Event - DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED
All meetings are FREE and travel costs and childcare is reimbursed to volunteers.
