East Sussex Equalities Coordination Group
SpeakUp Forum is providing Secretariat role for the Group in 2011.
The main purpose of the Groups is:
- To be centred on service improvement and to identify and develop good practice and disseminate information at a local level to those involved in implementing equality work and equality action plans.
- To identify how public authorities, statutory partnerships and the third sector across East Sussex can work together to meet their individual and collective responsibilities to their communities and equalities legislation.
- There will be particular focus on the current and emerging equality legislation to sustain good practice.
- To keep members updated on developments and activities from member organisations through the submission of a written update prior to each meeting.
- To provide a virtual support network to equality and diversity practitioners.
- To act as an advisory consultative forum.
- To promote a culture of strong relationships between all member organisations and equality strands.
